Why Exercise Supports Your Candida Treatment

Six Reasons You Should Exercise
(and they aren’t what you think!)

Here at Candida Support, we recognize that Candida fungal yeast overgrowth is not a disease, it is an imbalance.

Because of that, we try to give you ALL the tools needed to lead a healthy life. Of course, our One-Two Punch is Tool #1 for defeating Candida. But another one of those tools is exercise.

Oh no, you groan! Are you sure there’s not a pill I can take instead? Ha! American physicians today say their major frustration is not that patients won’t take their pills – it’s that they refuse to change two things: their diet and their (lack of) exercise! Change is hard. But it is possible with the right motivation

Before we tell you HOW to start an exercise program, we are going to tell you WHY.

You can’t live in today’s world and NOT know that exercise helps you lose weight, is good for your heart, slows aging, tunes up your mind and builds muscle and bone. But there are other benefits that you may have overlooked – and they are worth looking at!

1. You will be happy (or happier)
When you exercise for at least 20 to 30 minutes, your body produces chemicals in your brain called endorphins. These endorphins produce a mild euphoria that lasts for up to 24 hours.

2. You will be more confident and capable.
Note, we didn’t say, “You will feel more confident and capable,” although that is also true. If you are strong and have more endurance you are more independent, if you are relaxed and balanced it is easier to get along with others and to cope with the unexpected. Exercising not only lets you feel confident and capable, it lets you be confident and capable.

3. The discipline will spill over into the rest of your life.
How often have we all looked down the barrel of a New Year, or the first day of school, or a new job, or Spring, or Fall, and said: “This time will be different. Here is my 10-point list for being a better person.”? Tear up that list!!! This time, tell yourself: I will exercise at least twice a week. Just do that. And somehow you will find yourself making time for those other things that are important. Because, you know, you are confident and capable, plus happy!

4. You will make better choices.
It is funny how exercising makes it easier to eat better (and you KNOW you should eat more vegetables, fewer chips). Somehow, honoring the effort you are putting in to be more fit makes corollary decisions line up on the healthy side.

5. You will be a nicer person.
See endorphins. See confident and capable. When you feel better about yourself, you treat yourself better – and you treat others better as well.

6. A healthy body is a balanced body – and a balanced body can more easily fight Candida.
