Five Hacks to Ease Candida Symptoms During Treatment

When you start your Candida treatment you will no doubt have symptoms that take days, weeks–sometimes even months–to go away completely.

It's important to note that while the suggestions for relief shown below will help with symptoms, none of them address the cause of Candida. For example, you might have noticed that you “cured” your vaginal yeast infection or athlete’s foot, only to have it reappear weeks later.

The only way to go after a Candida fungal yeast imbalance in the body is to attack it in the gut where it originates, and with a twice- or three-times-a-year cleanse of the pesky and tenacious fungus throughout the body. Luckily, we can help you there. That's what our One-Two Punch treatment plan is designed to do.

In the meantime, here are five "bio-hacks" that can help give temporary relief from those unpleasant Candida symptoms:

Skin Rashes and Itchy Scalp

Cocnut-Oil-1.jpg

Coconut oil to the rescue. This kitchen staple also makes a wonderfully soothing, anti-fungal cream. Apply lightly to rashes after a shower or bath, and let it sink in before dressing. Coconut oil can also be applied directly to the scalp (you can add a few drops of tea tree oil and emulsify it together by heating it in your palms). Leave it on for 20 minutes or more before shampooing.

Bloating

Peppermint oil, applied directly to the belly, will temporarily burst those gassy bubbles and bring some relief.

Toenail Fungus and Athlete’s Foot

A foot bath made of strongly-brewed Pau d’ Arco tea makes a good soak for fungal foot relief. Follow with undiluted tea tree oil directly on the nail. Apply a soothing tea tree lotion or anti-fungal cream to the feet and put on cotton socks.

Fungal Sinus Infections

Neti-Pot-1.jpg

Have you met the Neti pot? Or NeilMed Sinus Rinse? Adding 14 drops of usnea (an anti-fungal lichen) per cup of salt water to the pot can help reduce fungus in nose and sinuses. You can buy a tincture of usnea in most health food stores. Check out our blog post on sinus rinsing for more information on how to utilize this useful tool!

Vaginal Yeast

This is an “off-label” use, but we have had several customers tell us they have used ThreeLac™ capsules (which are designed for oral use) as a vaginal or anal suppository (overnight, and with a panty-liner) with excellent results . . .

Over-the-counter vaginal cream will also ease yeast infection symptoms (that itch!!!) not only vaginally, but anally, and even for itchy ears! For ears, put a small amount of the cream on a cotton swab and apply gently, being careful not to push the swab too deep into the ear canal.
